My Sister Cara

Brady here.  I’m so glad it’s Friday.  My (human) sister Cara always stops by for dinner on Fridays.  I miss her.  She does important work, just like I do.  She works with children with disabilities.  She is a social worker and I am very proud of her.  I’m pretty sure I taught her everything she knows.  She was one of the TheraPets volunteers when she was in high school and on college breaks and we worked together a lot.  Cara and I have a date to attend the TheraPets fundraiser, BARKTOBERFEST on October 18th.  It will be a really great time, I hope to see you all there.

Are Dogs Supposed to Wear Shirts

As I was leaving for work today, I was shocked to have my mom put a shirt on me.  I am already covered with hair, so why did I need to wear a shirt.  Well when I got to work at the children’s hospital, I understood.  Today I was going to sit with my young friend as she received her Chemotherapy treatment.   She is so brave and there is so little I can do, but the way she smiled when she saw me in my cute shirt, made it all worth while.  I’m sure I will continue to protest when mom brings out the clothing, but maybe just a little less next time.

Brady’s 1st Blog

Hi this is Brady.  I am honored to be asked to write a Blog for the wonderful TheraPets of Indiana program.  I am an 8 year old Cairn Terrier.  I have been part of TheraPets since  I was 4 months old.  Some of you may know that I had a pretty tough time when I was just a puppy.  I was severely injured but thank goodness Darlene took me under her wing, made sure I had the best vet care and now I am a happy member of the TheraPets team.   I live with 5 of my brothers and sisters.  All of us came to TheraPets from different circumstances and currently live in Avon, Indiana with our mom & dad.  I would love to tell you about each of them, and my other TheraPets friends.  Today I wanted to ask each of you to learn more about the Therapets of Indiana program and see how you can support us and the work we do.  The big project my human friends are working on is our fundraising event, BARKTOBERFEST.  The event will be held on Wednesday, October 18th.  Funds raised at this event will help with the expenses of keeping me and my friends happy and healthy.  It is quite expensive caring for all 26 of us.  Please watch for my next blog.  Have a great day! Brady
